ONE WORLD Secures Repeat Order for FRP Strength Members from a European Cable Manufacturer Through Consistent Quality

ONE WORLD has successfully completed the shipment of a new batch of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) Strength Members to a well-established cable manufacturer in Europe. The customer specializes in the development and production of optical fiber cables, power cables, and data communication cables, and has maintained a long-term partnership with ONE WORLD.

Just a few months after the previous delivery, the customer placed another order for ONE WORLD FRP strength members, demonstrating continued confidence in our product quality and supply reliability.

As a key non-metallic strength member in optical fiber cables, FRP provides the axial tensile strength required to protect the cable structure. Compared with traditional metallic strength members, FRP offers several advantages, including lightweight construction, excellent electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, and immunity to electromagnetic interference.

These characteristics make FRP widely used in ADSS cables, FTTH cables, indoor optical cables, and various loose tube optical cable designs, where it delivers reliable mechanical performance even in demanding environments. Today, FRP has become one of the most widely adopted non-metallic reinforcement materials in modern optical cable manufacturing.

For this European customer, meeting mechanical performance requirements is only part of the expectation. Equally important is maintaining consistent product quality over the long term. ONE WORLD FRP strength members consistently deliver excellent dimensional consistency, tensile performance, and batch-to-batch consistency, meeting the stringent quality requirements of the European market. This consistency is one of the key reasons why the customer continues to place repeat orders.

Before shipment, every 3.3 mm FRP strength member undergoes rigorous performance testing.

During tensile testing, the product consistently achieved a tensile strength of 1300–1400 MPa, significantly exceeding the specified requirement of 1100 MPa, providing ample tensile capacity for optical cable applications.

Another noteworthy result is the characteristic brooming failure observed after tensile testing. Instead of fracturing abruptly, the glass fibers separate progressively, producing the typical broom-like fracture pattern. This failure mode indicates gradual failure behavior rather than brittle breakage, helping reduce the risk of sudden structural failure and contributing to the long-term mechanical reliability of optical cables.

In addition to tensile testing, every production batch undergoes comprehensive quality inspections, including dimensional and visual inspections, to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with the performance requirements for non-metallic optical cable strength members.

The customer's continued repeat orders reflect not only confidence in the product's performance, but also trust in ONE WORLD's consistent quality and manufacturing management system. Looking ahead, ONE WORLD will continue to uphold strict quality standards and provide reliable FRP strength members and other optical cable materials to customers worldwide.
