From a 1-Ton Trial Order to a Second 20GP: Why Does the Customer Keep Buying HDPE from ONE WORLD?

1-ton trial order. One 20GP container. Now, a second 20GP.

Recently, a shipment of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) from ONE WORLD was loaded and dispatched to the customer. The material is mainly used for the production of small-size cables.

This cooperation did not start with a full-container order. It began with a 1-ton trial order. For HDPE used directly in the extrusion process, customers need to look beyond price and basic material properties. They also need to verify whether the material is compatible with their equipment, tooling, and processing conditions.

Start with a Trial, Then Evaluate Real Production Performance

The customer put the 1-ton HDPE into actual cable production, focusing on its plasticization behavior, melt flow, processing stability, and extrusion surface quality, while also checking the dimensional consistency and appearance of the finished cables.

For small-size cable production, controlling the outer diameter is particularly important. Factors such as material processing behavior, extrusion speed, temperature settings, and die compatibility can all affect the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the finished product.

Laboratory data provides a useful reference, but actual production trials offer a better indication of how well a material matches a customer’s production line.

From Testing to a Full 20GP Container

After completing the production trial with 1 ton of HDPE, the customer confirmed that the material met their current production requirements and increased the order from a trial quantity to a full 20GP container.

Once the material enters regular production, the focus goes beyond simply asking, “Can we use it?” Customers also consider batch consistency, lead time, pricing, and supply reliability. For cable manufacturers running continuous production, a stable supply of raw materials is closely tied to production planning and delivery schedules.

The Second 20GP: From Trial Order to Ongoing Supply

After the first full-container order, the customer placed another order. ONE WORLD is now arranging the shipment of the customer’s second 20GP container of HDPE.

From 1 ton → 20GP → a second 20GP, this cooperation follows a typical process for industrial raw material procurement:

Small-batch trial → Production validation → Bulk procurement → Ongoing supply

For industrial raw materials, material properties are only the first step. True suitability needs to be verified through actual production, while continued orders are built on consistent product quality and reliable supply.

As a cable materials manufacturer, ONE WORLD offers a range of products including polymer materials, tapes, optical fiber cable materials, and other cable-related materials. We value every stage from sample testing to bulk supply and continue to pay close attention to how our materials perform in customers’ actual production processes.
