Semi-conductive filler ropes and PP filler ropes are two different types of ropes used in the wire and cable industry.
Semi-conductive filler ropes are used to create a semi-conductive layer between the conductor and the insulation layer in power cables. This layer helps to control the electric field and minimize electrical stress on the cable insulation.
PP filler ropes, on the other hand, are used as a filler material in the interstices of stranded conductors or between layers of insulation in power cables. They provide mechanical support to the cable structure and also prevent the ingress of moisture and other contaminants into the cable core.
While both types of ropes serve important functions in the wire and cable industry, they are not interchangeable and have different properties and applications.
